Multifox

I’ve recently started needing to log into multiple social networks simultaneously for work, and my solution of having a completely different browser open for each account was getting very limiting, very quickly.

I was getting pretty bogged down having so many different browsers open and my RAM was getting eaten up by Safari, Chrome, Firefox and Opera. 4 Gigs of RAM only goes so far. Then I thought, what happens when I need MORE than 4 different accounts open? Are there any more (stable and good) browsers for Mac OS X? That was a rhetorical question, what I am trying to say here is that it became obviously a scalable solution was needed that was independent of the number of available browsers for mac.

I gave Seesmic Desktop 2 Beta a quick try, but it wasn’t able to log me into a single Facebook account, so I gave up fairly quickly. I am also really not a fan of Adobe Air on a mac anyway, so I tried Seesmic Desktop reluctantly.

After a further quick Google I found Multifox and so far it looks share-worthy . Multifox, in their own words is

[A]n extension that allows Firefox to connect to websites using different user names. Simultaneously!

For example, if you have multiple Gmail accounts, you can open them all at the same time. Each Firefox window, managed by Multifox, accesses an account without interfering each other.
